Gustavo Puerta to Bologna

Quiet since 16 July 2026. Last report: Alfredo Pedulla. Probability when it went quiet: 4%.

Bologna have submitted their highest offer yet for Racing Santander midfielder Gustavo Puerta, believed to be in the region of €16m, but Racing have knocked it back. The Spanish side are holding firm on a fee closer to €20m for the 23-year-old Colombian, whose contract runs until June 2029. That gap, roughly €4m at the tightest reading, is the whole story right now. The coverage originates entirely from Alfredo Pedulla, an Italian journalist with a solid track record on Serie A business. He has reported the bid, the rejection, and Racing's asking price across consecutive days in mid-July 2026. A separate note from Gianluigi Longari, dated late June, flagged Puerta attracting interest from Porto, Atalanta and Roma, so Bologna are not operating in a clear field. For the deal to happen, Bologna must close that gap to €20m, or Racing must blink. Neither has moved yet. Bologna have previous for paying around this level: they brought in players from Marseille, Basel and Toulouse each at roughly €16m. Puerta's own career arc is cheaper, arriving at Racing from Leverkusen for €4m in 2025, but Racing have clearly revalued him sharply upward since. The clearest next trigger is whether Bologna return with an improved bid that reaches or approaches €20m. If a second club, Porto for instance, submits a concrete offer, that competition could either force Bologna's hand or
