Jordy Makengo to Monaco

This move fell through. Last report: Sacha Tavolieri, 28 August 2026.

Monaco are working to sign Jordy Makengo, the 25-year-old French defender currently contracted to SC Freiburg until June 2028. They signed players from Lille, Montpellier and Everton at that figure, and brought in a Stade Reims defender for €13m in 2020. Freiburg, meanwhile, sold a player to Stade Rennais for €14m in a comparable deal. The money here sits firmly within what both clubs have accepted before. The clearest next signal will be whether Freiburg accept a loan-to-buy arrangement or insi
