As things stand, this is little more than a flicker. Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó, 22 and contracted until 2028, has been linked with a move across to Atlético Madrid, but the live state is faint: the player is keen, his agent has made contact, and that is about the extent of it. There is no bid and no real negotiation. Atlético have, for now, rebuffed the idea, citing other priorities — though it reads as a soft denial rather than a slammed door. A fee somewhere between £15.6m and £21.3m has been floated. The sourcing is thin. So far this rests largely on a single, mid-tier link from Diario SPORT, with an asking price of £21.3m attributed to them and a separate £25.5m figure reported by Transfer News Live. Useful, but not the weight of corroboration you would want before taking it seriously. That is why the engine sits at 22% — against the odds. For this to complete, Atlético would need to turn their soft rejection into genuine interest, a bid would have to materialise, and Barcelona would have to be willing sellers. Right now none of those things are in place, and Casadó has other suitors pulling harder: Monaco lead his list of live destinations, ahead of Al Hilal. Atléti are actually the outsider here. There is form for the route. Barcelona sold to Atlético for £19m in 2023, and have offloaded at similar prices before — £18m to Porto and £17m to Everton in 2018. The money discussed is firmly in keeping. Watch for Atlético to harden their stance into an actual approach, or for a rival to firm up first.
