Noah Markmann to Lazio

This move fell through. Last report: Alfredo Pedulla, 28 July 2026.

Lazio's pursuit of Noah Markmann is off. The two clubs had actually done the hard part: an agreement between Lazio and Nordsjælland worth €6m plus €2m in bonuses was in place for the 19-year-old Danish defender. What sank it was the last piece, the sign-off from Markmann's family, which never came. The player himself turned down Lazio's proposal, and the family's reasoning is clear enough. They want a route that guarantees the 2007-born centre-back a starting shirt, and they believe that lies elsewhere. Two other offers are reportedly on the table. The reporting here is strong and unusually aligned. Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the most reliable voices on Italian transfers, confirmed the refusal and the collapse. Alfredo Pedulla tracked the whole arc across the same day, from the agreed fee to the family's hesitation to the deal falling through. When both of those names land on the same conclusion, there is little room for doubt. As things stand, this is a long shot to revive. The clubs found their number, so money was never the obstacle. The block sits with the player and his family, who are chasing regular football, and that is a far harder thing for Lazio to change than a fee. Short of Markmann rethinking his priorities or the rival offers falling away, it stays dead. The fee fits Lazio's pattern for young additions. They paid €5m to Vejle BK in 2025 and €4m to Marseille the same year, so €6m plus bonuses for Markmann was in keeping. The next trigger is Markmann's own choice. Watch which of the two other proposals he accepts. If both stall, only then does a Lazio return be
