Alex Scott to Arsenal

Quiet since 26 July 2026. Last report: TEAMtalk (Graeme Bailey). Probability when it went quiet: 4%.

Arsenal are among three Premier League clubs chasing Alex Scott, the 22-year-old Bournemouth midfielder, after Sky Sports News reported on 21 July that Scott has rejected a new contract offer from the south-coast club. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all understood to be interested, with Chelsea currently the frontrunner among that trio. Arsenal have had a bid of €94m turned down, according to Graeme Bailey, and Bournemouth's position is firm: they do not want to sell. Scott's contract runs until June 2028, which gives the club leverage despite his refusal to sign an extension. Sky Sports News, a reliable outlet with a strong record on Premier League moves, broke the contract-rejection story on 21 July. Fabrizio Romano has also flagged the situation on the same date. Ben Jacobs, who has tracked this one closely, reported that Bournemouth value Scott at around €80m, though that figure has not been formally quoted to interested clubs. Three credible voices pointing in the same direction, but the core detail of an agreed fee or advanced talks is absent. This is a long shot for Arsenal right now. Bournemouth are resisting every approach, the fee range being quoted sits between €94m and €121m, and the club's informal valuation of €80m-plus has already seen two bids rejected. For the move to happen, Bournemouth would need to reverse a clear policy of retention, and Arsenal would need to stretch significantly beyond their current offer. Arsenal's recent spending provides a useful frame. They paid €117m to sign a player from West Ham and €80m for a Lille midfielder in 20
