Frankfurt plan January return move for Forest's Kalimuendo

The situation

Eintracht Frankfurt want to bring Arnaud Kalimuendo back to Deutsche Bank Park, where the France attacker spent the second half of last season on loan and made a strong impression. A summer move between Frankfurt and Nottingham Forest fell through once, and the reports place this as a January push. Kalimuendo has been short of minutes at Forest, who signed him in 2025 and hold him until June 2030, so he has 42 months left when the window opens on 1 January.

The reporting

L'Equipe first reported it on 5 November, saying Frankfurt hope to finalise a return in January, with no agreement in place. TEAMtalk, the same day, carried an exclusive on the renewed interest and noted Forest previously wanted more than €30m. Sport Witness repeated the story that day too, framing it as interest rather than any bid. Three outlets, one picture: want and a plan, no offer tabled.

The chance for January runs against the odds. Frankfurt have a plan but no bid, and Forest knocked them back in the summer by holding out for over €30m. For this to move, Frankfurt must meet a price Forest were unwilling to lower, and Kalimuendo himself favours a return. Nothing here suggests either side is close.
